University Mail Services Operational hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. UMS is closed on all University Holidays. Mail is dispatched to our Local Post office daily at 4:00 p.m.

University Mail Services does not currently offer this service. Stamps may be purchased from UNC Student Stores located at 207 South Rd, Daniels Building.
University Mail Services currently does not process and deliver student mail. The student mail/package center is operated by Housing and Residential Services.
A change of your campus location must be acted upon promptly. It is solely up to you and your department to make arrangements on receiving mail that is still addressed to your old location. Campus Mail Service will not redirect mail that has an incorrect CAMPUS BOX number. It is your responsibility to make sure the people who send you mail have your correct campus address.
Mail that is vaguely addressed could delay the delivery of your mail or result in having the mail piece returned to you for a deliverable address. It is very important to have the faculty/staff directory updated with correct and complete contact information.
Write your address as shown below which will include your street address for carriers like FedEx and UPS, and Campus Box number for University Mail services (UMS). With the complete address below, mail will be delivered by the service provider utilized.

Our goal is to deliver every piece of mail the same day it is received. However, we sort and deliver by Campus Box number only. Consequently, processing mail without CB numbers may result in delays and/or non–delivery.
Often, courier mail finds its way to interoffice mail. To ensure that your mail reaches its destination, it’s always best to include the full name and box number. There is no harm if you want to add the department name, but don’t abbreviate, and don’t assume the department name is an adequate substitute.
We deliver by campus box numbers, not names. Make sure that you change your Campus Box number in the directory whenever you move to ensure you continue to get mail intended for you.
Campus mail is for business use only, one of the reasons we don’t forward mail when you transfer from one location to another. We assume the mail is for the person who is handling your former responsibilities.
Every piece of UNC mail — acceptance letters, grant info, tax info, etc. — is important to the person to whom it’s addressed. Again, University Mail Services sees more than 10 percent of mail a day without box numbers. We must rely on you to ensure that your mail is addressed correctly.
